Richard C. Blakin
Chief Designer
Richard is a native New Yorker, a student of art history, and a lover of the arts.
Throughout his career, he has absorbed the cultural richness of the city and integrated it into his style. He has an innate ability to create interiors which are both sophisticated and functional. With a childhood spent in the family flower shop, he emerged as an accomplished floral arranger.
Richard has a unique approach to interior design. With his concept of “underlying form", he views objects not solely based on their function but on their fundamental form. As a result, a tympani drum is transformed into a coffee table, a collection of "plum bobs" (a curiously designed carpenters tool) evolves into a wall sculpture, a blank ceiling becomes a trompe l’oeil skylight, and exotic feathers are integrated into a stunning floral arrangement.
Mr. Blakin is an HSR Certified Professional Home Stager/Redesigner and a member of The American Society of Home Staging and Redesign.
